How to choose drawing courses

Every beginner artist always faces a dilemma – how to choose the right drawing and painting courses . To study in a group or individually, choose unknown painting courses or contact a renowned painting school? What is the best way – when you can save 50 hryvnia, or after analyzing the issue a little, find the optimal price-quality ratio.

Before starting classes, you must definitely decide that the main thing for you is saving a couple of hryvnias, or the final result. Many aspiring artists are caught on the low cost bait. But here it is worthwhile to thoroughly understand the issue. Of course, oil painting courses or pencil drawing classes taught by a truly professional artist cannot be cheap.

A person who studied at an art school, then at an art academy, who knows how to draw, will not work for a penny – and this is absolutely normal! If you want to work with a pro, be ready to pay adequately for his work. An artist with education, who knows how to draw perfectly and is able to convey to the listener all the necessary information, will not transfer his knowledge for 100 hryvnia. A painting teacher who is attracted by the low cost of classes is most likely a novice artist, often even without special specialized education or, simply, an amateur who cannot draw.

Another aspect of pricing is the length of the lessons. Pay attention to the time frame – there is a difference: a lesson lasting 2.5 academic hours or an astronomical one.
The optimal duration of classes is 2.5-3 hours for adults and 1.30-2 hours for children from 4 years old. By the way, if you plan to send your child to drawing lessons for children, do not be afraid of 2-hour lessons – a professional artist-teacher always feels the children perfectly and will be able to take a break in time, if necessary. 4-5 years old is the optimal time to make the first attempt to join children’s drawing lessons. You can safely forget about drawing lessons for 40 minutes – this time is not enough for a full-fledged lesson in drawing and painting, they will not give a result – this is just a way to spend time and siphon money from parents.

The cost of classes is always influenced the prices of consumables – always pay attention to this item.

Many people think that it is better for them to find drawing and painting courses for a couple of hryvnias cheaper and to buy the materials themselves. It usually goes like this: after the first lesson, a person in euphoria goes home with a paid drawing course. But when he gets into a store with art materials, he comes to a wild horror at the cost of everything – from brushes to oil paints and canvases. But in such a situation, nothing can be done, since the classes have already been paid for – and you have to fork out and buy all the materials. And the amount that you were going to spend on training is at least doubled.
Alternative and search for drawing courses is the key to success
One piece of advice from a trusted person can save you from amateurs. It’s always best to take a different drawing class. The only exceptions may be the courses that you have been advised by a person you can trust, and you have seen the result of your work in these drawing and painting courses. Many who have not tried the alternatives cannot be completely sure of the professionalism of the teachers. It so often happens that a person goes to classes, and, it seems, something turns out and relatively like it – but is this really so?
